Construction consultancy in New Year merger

Cheltenham-based construction consultancy Evans Jones LLP has started the New Year with a major expansion.
The firm says it sees positive signs of increased activity in the market and to reflect this the company of surveyors, planning consultants and architectural designers has merged with James Nicholas Ltd and Beccaben Ltd.
James Nicholas Ltd, a Gloucester based firm of architectural designers will merge with the existing architectural division of the practice and its principal, Nick Gwilliam will become head of the architectural division of the practice.
Nick and his team bring a wealth of experience in the housing sector. With the increasing requirements for sustainable design, Nick will be aiming to capitalise on Evans Jones position as one of the only architectural practices in the area to have an in house code for sustainable homes assesssor.
Beccaben Ltd, a Cheltenham based firm of quantity surveyors and project managers will form part of a re-structuring of the business with its principal, Tim Sluman leading a new Evans Jones Project division focussing on project management and quantity surveying.
Allied to the existing town planning, architectural and building surveying divisions this will allow Evans Jones to offer clients a one stop shop for the delivery of development projects.
Tim has a wealth of experience in the schools sector and, having worked as a consultant to various local authorities will bring key knowledge to the team in terms of public sector procurement.
Tim will be charged with developing the project division as well as servicing Evans Jones existing clients providing quantity surveying, project management and project monitoring services.
Ian Eggleton, partner in charge of building consultancy said of the expansion plans: "Despite some challenging times over the last few years we are seeing the early signs of recovery and see this as the perfect time to put plans in place for future growth.

Evans Jones has been in practice for over 35 years. It works extensively across the Midlands and South West but also provide niche services such as disabled access consultancy and green travel plans to clients across the whole of the UK.
